
Easy Cocomelon Cake Ideas and How to Make Them
If you’re a new parent or one who is looking to make a cake for your little one, CoComelon is definitely a birthday party theme worth checking out.
We searched the web and found these fun and inspiring Cocomelon themed cakes, then we broke down the steps to recreate each one below. We hope that this helps you create a cake that your kid will absolutely love!
A Candy Sphere Cocomelon Cake

This cake would be a super fun design for a Cocomelon themed child’s birthday party. The green icing can be made from buttercream and gel food coloring. The ribbed texture is easily created with a dented scraper. The “balloons” are made from white chocolate melted with food coloring that is then painted onto a mold to make them look like real balloons.
This cake would be super cute with red velvet cake inside to make it look like a real watermelon!

Easy Decorating Directions:
- Add 2 drops of food coloring in the color “kiwi” to the buttercream frosting, and mix well. Using the spatula, apply a thick layer of the green frosting to the cool cake layers.
- Using the dented icing scraper, go around the cake and remove extra icing, leaving the indent all the way around the cake.
- Make the colorful candy balls using the method shown below in Cecilia Vuong’s video. Melt the candy melts in 3 separate batches and make one batch red, one batch yellow, and one batch blue.
- Attach the balls to skewers and arrange on the sides and top of the cake.
- Arrange the cocomelon cake toppers and the birthday cake topper.
- Voila! Have a blast with your beautiful cake!

An Adorable & Easy Cocomelon Cake

This adorable little cake is perfect for baby’s first birthday. With 3 layers and a light blue fondant covering, it may seem like a daunting project, but I promise you can make this cake easily!
I can totally see this cake being funfetti inside, and I highly reccomend this Funfetti Cake recipe from Dance Around the Kitchen.
To recreate the design of this cute cake, I highly recommend having these items in your kitchen:
- 6″ Cake Pan set of 3
- FONDX 2 lbs of Baby Blue Fondant
- FONDX 2 lbs of White Fondant
- 24 Color Food Coloring Set
- Italian Buttercream Icing in Vanilla
- Wilton 12 piece piping tips
- Wilton disposable piping bags
- Cloud Fondant Cutter
- Cocomelon Cake Toppers
Easy Decorating Directions:
- Bake your cakes in the 6″ pans, and level them. Use half of the buttercream frosting between the cake layers and then around the outside of the cakes. Smooth as much as possible.
- Roll out the blue fondant between 2 pieces of plastic wrap until it’s around 1/8″ thick. Drape it over the top of the cake and smooth. Use a butter knife to trim the fondant off at the bottom of the cake.
- Divide the buttercream frosting into 2 bowls. Color one with the food coloring named “turquoise” and the other with the gel food coloring named “chartreuse.” Put them into separate piping bags with star shaped tips attached.
- Pipe small blue and green stars randomly around the side and top of cake.
- Roll out the white fondant between 2 pieces of plastic wrap until it’s around 1/8″ thick. Use the cloud fondant cutters to cut out several clouds, and, using a bit of extra buttercream, attach them to the blue fondant.
- Arrange the Cocomelon cake toppers.
- Voila! Your Cocomelon loving kid is going to go wild over this cake.

An Awesome Two Tiered Cocomelon Drip Cake

If you’ve got a big family to celebrate with, you may want to consider making this super fun two tier cake. I have to say, this may be the most fun cake yet! With the rainbow sprinkles, and drip icing effect, it’s sure to become the centerpiece of your little one’s birthday party!
I suggest having these items available in your kitchen to recreate this cake:
- 6″ Cake Pan set of 3
- Wilton 8″ cake Pan set of 2
- 24 Color Food Coloring Set
- Italian Buttercream Icing in Vanilla
- Wilton 12 piece piping tips
- Wilton disposable piping bags
- Cake Craft Cake Drip in Green
- Rainbow Sprinkles
- Cocomelon Cake Toppers
Easy Decorating Directions:
- Divide out 3/4 of the butter cream frosting and color green with the gel food coloring and completely stack and ice your cooled cakes rounds.
- Apply the green cake drip icing to the edges of the cake and let it run down the sides, creating the drip effect.
- Color the remainder of the butter cream frosting with the blue gel food coloring, put it into a piping bag with an appropriate tip, then pipe the blue frosting around the bottom, center and top edges of your cake.
- Put the rainbow sprinkles on the top and the center sections of the cake and arrange the Cocomelon cake toppers to your liking.
- Voila! You made the cutest professional looking two tiered cake!

This Cocomelon cake has the cutest frosting design! The star shaped piping tip give this cake a “fuzzy” look, like a stuffy. How cute is that?!?!

Easy Decorating Directions:
- Bake your cake according to the directions and let the rounds cool.
- Separate the buttercream into 2 separate containers. Add 3 drops the food coloring called “avocado” into one bowl (this will make your dark green icing), and add 1 drop of the food coloring called “avocado” to the other bowl. Mix both bowls of icing thoroughly. Place the icings into 2 separate piping bags fit with star shaped tips.
- Put icing between the cake layers and stack them on top of one another.
- Cut the watermelon face out from the edible image, and paste it to the side of the cake with a little buttercream.
- Slowly pipe the green buttercreams all over the outside of the cake.
- Roll out the green fondant to about 1/8″ between 2 pieces of plastic wrap, and cut the birthday kiddo’s name from it using the fondant cutters.
- Arrange the name and the cocomelon cake toppers on the cake.
- Voila! You’ve made an adorably perfect Cocomelon cake!
A Super Colorful Cocomelon Cake

This adorably colorful Cocomelon cake may be the easiest to make of all. A few more colors of fondant are required, but after applying a thin layer of buttercream, applying the fondant is the hardest step. You can knock this cutie of a cake out in no time!
I suggest using these items to recreate this cake:
- Wilton 8″ cake Pan set of 2
- Italian Buttercream Icing in Vanilla
- Edible Cocomelon Face Image
- Cocomelon Cake Toppers
- Rainbow Swirl Pops
- Buddy Valastro Light Green Fondant
- Wilton Dark Green Fondant
- Satin Ice Red Fondant
- Wilton Letter and Number Fondant Cutters
Easy Decorating Directions:
- Bake your cake according to the directions and let the rounds cool.
- Put the buttercream frosting between the cake layers and stack them on top of one another. Cover the entire outside of the cake with a thin layer of buttercream.
- Roll the two green fondants out to 1/8″ thickness between 2 layers of plastic wrap. Using a straight edge, cut five 20″ long x 1″ wide strips of the dark green fondant and put them to the side.
- Very carefully cover the outside of the cake with the light green fondant using the method described in the helpful tutorial video from CakesbyLynz.
- Arrange the 5 strips of the dark green fondant on top of the cake like in the photo, and trim off the excess fondant.
- Using extra fondant, roll a long tube and cover the bottom edge of the cake with it.
- Roll the red fondant out to 1/4″ thickness between 2 layers of plastic wrap. Cut out the name and age of the kiddo and push skewers into the bottoms to create the fondant name cake topper. Arrange them on the cake by pushing them into the top.
- Arrange the Cocomelon cake toppers and the rainbow lolipops on top of the cake.
- Voila! You’ve created an amazing fondant covered Cocomelon cake that will knock your kids socks off!
